New Member. 13 Mar 2021. #1. So my 67 plate 93k T6 has had premature cambelt failure currently waiting on results of engine damage however VW have offered to pay 100% of parts and 50% of Labour, the cambelt was not due to be changed till October and it has been main dealer serviced from day 1 so do I push for more or is the 50% the best I’llUnfortunately, like many vehicles from the VW range, the Transporter BiTDi has been plagued with a serious issue that could result in total engine failure. Initially, this issue appears as high oil usage, whilst this can be common in some of the VAG engines (namely my 2015 Skoda Octavia TDi VRS) this is much more serious than you’d expect.
VW T6 Engine issues. Two of the more powerful diesel engines can be susceptible to engine failure although this is quite rare. These seems to affect the 180bhp and 205bhp Bi-Turbo Diesel models and is caused by a faulty EGR valve (see above). Due to age of the T6, most of these engine failures are covered under the original VW warranty but
Given the pump and sensor have been replaced, if the hot oil at low revs cannot get above the lowest sensor pressure figure, then this could be onset of bearing/crank wear causing the oil to pass too easily. Cold oil will hold pressure as being less fluid. High revs will hold pressure as pump is working harder.A4Lb3.
