Here's how to replace the ATF (auto transmission fluid) in a CRV.ATF Filter replacement video:
18 Oct, 2023. Replacing old tranny fluid at the right time is crucial to performance & lifespan of transmissions. Transmission fluid quality should be checked periodically. Transmission fluid or transmission oil is used to lubricate and cool a transmission. In automatic transmissions, it is also used in the torque converter to transfer power
Transmission fluid helps keep mechanical components cool and lubricated, whether the gearbox is automatic or manual. Over time, the transmission's interior components wear down, and tiny particles
Loosen the plug, pull it out, and give it a nice clean. The drain plug is located on the driver's side just next to the dogbone/pendulum mount and can be easily reached from the front of the car. Get the plug nice and loose so the fluid is dripping and get your container ready to catch the fluid.
Locate the fill plug and remove it. Use the fluid transfer pump or run a clear tube with a quarter inch inner diameter from the engine bay into the fill plug. Slide the tube over the bottle of fluid and begin filling the transmission. Double check your owner’s manual for the correct transmission fluid capacity.
